Minor in Aging & Wellness
The Aging Studies Minor at Kean University is a 15/18-credit interdisciplinary program that examines aging from social, scientific, and policy perspectives. Students explore healthcare, wellness, and community support systems with a focus on the rapidly growing aging population. Through an evidence-based, holistic lens, the minor investigates how individuals and societies can promote healthy aging throughout the lifespan.
Coursework integrates insights from the social sciences, health sciences, public policy, and human development, giving students both macro and micro perspectives on the aging experience—locally, nationally, and globally. This program broadens students’ understanding of the biological, psychological, and social dimensions of aging, preparing them for work in healthcare, community services, advocacy, research, and any field where knowledge of aging populations is increasingly essential.
