Students who cannot identify the next steps to resolve their grievance below, should contact their academic advisor.

1. General Workplace Concerns/Employment Issues
Examples include workplace conditions, supervisory concerns and non-discrimination policy issues.
Primary Office: Human Resources Employee Relations Team
Process Overview: Employees may contact HR for review, informal resolution, or referral to a formal process.
2. Discrimination, Harassment, or Hostile Work Environment
Examples include discrimination, harassment or retaliation.
Primary Office: Office of Affirmative Action Programs
Process Overview: Complaints are handled under the NJ State Policy Prohibiting Discrimination in the Workplace.

3. Title IX – Sex-Based Discrimination or Harassment
Examples include sexual harassment or sex-based discrimination.
Primary Office: Title IX Coordinator
Process Overview: Complaints follow federal Title IX regulations and University policy.

4. Union / Collective Bargaining Grievances
Examples include contract violations or discipline covered by union agreements.

Process Overview: Grievances follow procedures outlined in collective bargaining agreements.

Process Overview: Appeals, complaints, or grievances involving the Office of Accessibility Services (OAS) should be communicated to the Office of Accessibility Services within ten working days of the event or action giving rise to the issue.
