Jeff Everett

Jeff has dedicated his career to the conservation and preservation of cultural, agricultural, and natural resources on both public and private lands working for government agencies that include that National Park Service, the New Jersey Department of Agriculture, and the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department. Additionally, he has provided consulting services to non-profit organizations such as the Historic Annapolis Foundation, the Agricultural Preserve Boards of Michigan, and the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests.

He was awarded the National Green Infrastructure Award by The Conservation Fund for creating a conservation easement acquisition program in Carroll County, Maryland, that will protect 50,000 acres of working farmland and forestland, wildlife habitat, and historic landscapes at a cost savings of $800 million over conventional methodologies. His book on the natural and cultural landscapes of his native Shenandoah Valley was published by the University of Virginia Press and he is currently working on a book manuscript on conservation efforts in the Megalopolis Region.

He currently serves as the Executive Director of the Garden State Preservation Trust, an independent state authority in, but not of, the New Jersey Department of the Treasury, which provides constitutionally dedicated funding for the acquisition and stewardship of open space, farmland, and historic resources.
