Winter Weather Announcement

All classes and activities at Kean Ocean will continue to be conducted remotely through Sunday, March 1, due to ongoing power issues.

This remote schedule applies only to Kean Ocean. Kean’s main campus in Union and Kean Skylands will operate as normal. 

Only essential personnel should report in person for work at Kean Ocean during this time. Employees with questions about their status should consult their supervisor.

Clean Communities event

Urban Mayors Policy Center Supporting NJ Clean Communities Initiatives

New Jersey Clean Communities (NJCC), New Jersey’s only statewide, comprehensive, litter-abatement program has partnered with the Urban Mayors Policy Center (UMPC) to advance community cleanup efforts and support to urban centers awarded NJCC grants to address clean, healthy, and safe communities.

On July 22 nd , the UMPC kicked off a clean community’s initiative in the Township of Hillside addressing litter on four business corridors. The kickoff engaged residents, youth and business and raised awareness to clean up efforts regularly. While the launch was held in Hillside, efforts will expand to other New Jersey Urban Mayor Association cities including Elizabeth, Roselle, Plainfield, & Linden.

New Jersey Urban Mayors Association Statement on the Passing of Lt. Governor Sheila Oliver

The New Jersey Urban Mayors Association (NJUMA) mourns the passing of Lt. Governor Sheila Y. Oliver.

The Lt. Governor’s innovative approaches and vision have yielded transformative results in various sectors, be it education, healthcare or housing. Her unwavering dedication to public service has created a ripple effect that will continue to shape statewide policies and initiatives for years to come. As we reflect on her life of service, we are reminded of the importance of compassion, integrity and selflessness in leadership. We take solace in knowing that her legacy endures through the positive impacts she has made.

The NJUMA extends our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and colleagues. May they find comfort in knowing that the Lt. Governor’s legacy will forever live on in the positive changes she brought to the State of New Jersey, particularly in urban communities.
