Kean Concert Choir presents Choral Music of England

The Kean University Concert Choir, Chorale and Men's Chamber Choir performed Choral Music of England on Sunday, November 13 in Kean's Enlow Hall.  The program featured selections by Handel, Purcell, Gilbert and Sullivan, Vaughan Williams, Britten and Rutter.  A full orchestral ensemble, including professionals from the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, accompanied the vocalists.

Dr. Mark Terenzi conducted the choir and College of Visual and Performing Arts Dean Sue Bousquet welcomed attendees at the event. The Kean Alumni Choir concluded the program with their second annual performance, delivering their stirring rendition of the Hallelujah chorus from Handel's Messiah

"Kean students are very lucky to have a program such as this to guide them into being such well rounded musicians," said N.J. Symphomy Orchestra violinist Christine Terhune.  "I hope they always keep their music as passionate and fun!"

"We graduated 12 seniors from the choir last year, so many of our new recruits are freshman," said Terenizi. "I was amazed at the professionalism and power they were able to achieve in their singing, working together for just a few months with our returning choir members."

Featured student soloists, orchestra musicians, and conductors included: Samantha Adams, Aaliyah Atwood, Chelsea Appiah-Kubi, Daniel Barnett, Dannyele Crawford, Claudia Escalante, Aaron Geusic, Edward Griffin, Domenick Guarnaccia, William Horner, Asia Johnson, Daniel Montealegre, Rosemarie Manzo, Sadie Pepitone, Emily Niemeyer and Matthew Tartza.  Enlow Hall is located on Kean University's East Campus at 215 North Avenue in Hillside.
