Gov. Mikie Sherrill appointed David Mohney to the New Jersey State Board of Architects

David Mohney, dean of Michael Graves College at Kean University, has been appointed by Gov. Mikie Sherrill to serve on the New Jersey State Board of Architects. His term runs through April 2030.

“I'm honored by this appointment to the State Board of Architects,” Mohney said. “My goal is to advance the profession of architecture in New Jersey so that all its citizens benefit from the built environment.”

The New Jersey State Board of Architects protects public health and safety by overseeing architectural licensure and professional conduct in the state, ensuring that architects meet established qualifications and uphold the standards of the profession.

The appointment is another milestone for Mohney, whose career spans architecture, design and education. At Kean, Mohney leads Michael Graves College, where he oversees programs focused on architecture and design and their role in shaping communities.
