Publishing Milestone for Kean Design Professor

Kean University’s Michael Graves College Distinguished Professor Robin Landa has achieved another publishing milestone as the author of the first-ever interactive design book. Wadsworth has published the sixth edition of her highly acclaimed book Graphic Design Solutions in print and on its MindTap digital platform, with special features to engage and challenge students.

Graphic Design Solutions is more than a book—it’s pedagogy—a rich instructional resource for educators,” said Landa. “Students will gain a thorough understanding of the principles of design and strategies for problem solving and professional practice.”

New to the interactive sixth edition are zoomable images, chapter-based introductory exercises, automatically graded quizzes, exercises and projects. The included video series—Designers Speak—features interviews with working designers on their professional experiences, triumphs and challenges.

Graphic Design Solutions is a renowned text used at colleges and universities across the country and around the world. It gives an in-depth overview of design principles, concept generation, branding, visual identity, web and mobile design, packaging design, portfolio development, social media, ad campaigns and more. It also offers valuable tools for building a portfolio, personal branding and navigating the interview and job search process.

Robin Landa is the author of 23 books about graphic design, advertising design, branding, creativity and drawing, including Graphic Design Solutions, Advertising by Design and Nimble: Thinking Creatively in the Digital Age. She has won numerous awards for design, writing and research, including honors from the National Society of Arts and Letters and the National League of American Pen Women. The Carnegie Foundation lists her among the great teachers of our time. She currently serves as chair of the governance board of Design Incubation, a design research and practice organization.
