Winter Weather Announcement

Due to the ongoing winter storm and cleanup operations, all Kean campuses will continue to operate remotely on Tuesday, February 24.

All classes and activities will be conducted remotely during this time. Employees will also work remotely. Only those employees deemed essential during weather emergencies should report to campus. Employees with questions about their status should consult their supervisor.

Keanu’s Kitchen will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday to serve residential students.

Parking across the main campus in Union is currently prohibited. Drivers should keep their vehicles in the Kean Parking Deck while cleanup operations are underway. Vehicles parked elsewhere on campus may be relocated.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Kean was recognized by U.S. News and World Report for its online degree-granting programs.

Kean University has been recognized once again by U.S. News & World Report as a leading institution offering degree-granting online programs in the 2026 Best Online Programs rankings.

“This recognition speaks to Kean’s mission of expanding access to high-quality education,” said Lamont O. Repollet, Ed.D., president of Kean University. “Our growing online programs empower students to pursue and complete their degrees on their own schedule, from wherever they are. It’s about removing barriers and supporting success, whether students are balancing work, family or other commitments.”

The rankings evaluated nearly 1,850 online bachelor’s and master’s degree programs at regionally accredited institutions. In New Jersey, Kean’s online programs ranked third statewide for online bachelor’s programs serving veterans, tied for fourth for online bachelor’s in business programs and tied for fifth for online bachelor’s programs.

“Kean’s online programs are built to deliver the same academic rigor students expect on campus,” said Joseph Youngblood II, Ph.D., chancellor of Kean Global, Kean Ocean, and strategic global initiatives. “By extending learning beyond the traditional classroom, we also expand access for returning students and working adults, providing flexible, high-quality pathways that meet learners wherever they are in their lives and careers.”

U.S. News & World Report based its rankings on several measures, including student engagement, faculty credentials, and services and technologies that support online learners.

“Our online programs are intentionally designed with today’s learners in mind,” said Jay O’Callaghan, vice president for transformational learning and chief online officer at Kean University. “These rankings highlight the University’s focus on student-centered learning, innovative technologies and equitable access to education.”

Launched in 2016, the Kean Online unit of Kean Global now offers 15 majors and nine minors, along with nine graduate programs and various certificate programs. Designed to foster a comfortable and engaging learning environment, Kean Online programs are well suited for both students new to online education and experienced online learners.
