The Common Read
In Fall 2023, first-year students enrolled in Transition to Kean (GE 1000) and other courses will engage with the Common Read text, The Future is Disabled by Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha. The purpose of the Common Read is to bring students together around a given text to discuss relevant and timely topics, to promote interdisciplinary discourse, and to create a shared intellectual experience for students in their first semester at Kean.
The College of Liberal Arts and School of General Studies are excited to welcome Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha, author of this year’s Common Read, The Future is Disabled, to campus on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023 for a conversation in Wilkins Theatre. All first-year students are invited to attend this event. To find out more about the 10/3 event visit Cougar Link here.
