First Gen FAQ
Who are 1st generation college students?
KU defines first-generation college students “neither parent(s)/guardian(s)” have attended college.
If my sibling (s) went to college, am I still considered a first generation college student?
Keeping KU’s first generation definition in mind, parent(s)/guardian(s) are used as the sole identifying factor. We welcome you to inquire about your sibling experiences to help you along your journey.
