Visual Storytelling

Showing the Kean Experience Through Authentic Visuals

Photos and videos are some of the most powerful tools we have to tell Kean’s story. They help us capture the energy, diversity and real-world impact of our students, faculty and programs.

Whether you’re promoting an event, designing a flyer, building a webpage, or posting on social media, the images you choose should reflect Kean’s values and visual style.

What Makes a Photo “On Brand”?

Kean’s photography and videography should feel:

  • Authentic: Candid, in-the-moment, not overly posed
  • Diverse: Reflecting the range of people, cultures and communities we serve
  • Engaged: Showing students and faculty interacting, creating, learning and leading
  • Bright and Optimistic: Using natural light and warm tones where possible
  • Purpose-Driven: Focused on outcomes, impact or human connection

Avoid images that feel staged, overly formal, generic or disconnected from the Kean experience.

Video Guidelines

Video is a powerful way to show Kean’s voice in action. When creating video content:

  • Use real voices of our students, faculty, alumni, partners
  • Capture real moments, not scripted scenes
  • Keep it accessible, include captions or transcripts
  • Use natural lighting and clear audio wherever possible
  • Include Kean branding (logo or end card) where appropriate
