Cybersecurity Clinic

The Kean University Center for Cybersecurity, in collaboration with the John S. Watson Institute for Urban Policy and Research, BCT Partners, and Covenant Business Concepts, is a key component of the New Jersey Regional Innovation Cluster (NJRIC). This initiative, funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration, aims to bolster cybersecurity resilience among small businesses (< $500,000 annual revenue) in New Jersey. The center provides free cybersecurity and business resilience risk assessments, offering crucial insights into potential vulnerabilities. These non-intrusive assessments, conducted by Kean University experts and students, serve as a foundation for subsequent mentoring and guidance, including exploring the beneficial applications of Generative AI.
Kean University is a member of The Consortium of Cybersecurity Clinics, and the only such clinic in New Jersey.
Following the initial assessment phase, the Kean Cybersecurity Clinic facilitates the translation of findings into actionable solutions. Interested businesses can apply through the provided application survey, with approved participants then completing a pre-assessment survey, all under the direction of Prof. Stan Mierzwa, Ph.D., Director of the Center for Cybersecurity.
