Kean celebrated African-American history and culture with a stirring and joyful Juneteenth Jamboree on the Union campus. Hosted by the Center for Africana Studies, the University’s inaugural Juneteenth event began with a Freedom Walk and included moving speeches, prayer and a standing-room-only crowd sharing the day that marks the end of slavery in the United States.

Kean University’s new Center for Africana Studies hosted its first Juneteenth Jamboree as the University announced that Phi Beta Sigma, one of the oldest historically Black fraternities in the country, is joining the KEANetwork employee benefit program.
