A student, staff member, faculty, parent, family member, or friend can refer a student who is experiencing social, emotional, behavioral, or economic challenges.

All Kean University students, including online learners.
Does a referral have to include my name?
Anonymous referrals are accepted. We recommend referral sources provide as much information to adequately support our students.
When should I refer a student to CCCSW?
When a student presents with social, emotional, behavioral, or economic challenges that negatively impact daily functioning and hinder academic focus and success.
Are services confidential?
Yes, we are a confidential office that follows HIPAA guidelines.
What should I expect after a referral has been submitted?
A Social Worker will contact the referral source to gather additional information. Subsequently, the student is contacted to schedule an initial appointment via phone and secure messaging (Student Health Portal).
If I received services from CCCSW in the past, can I receive services again? Will I work with the same Social Worker?
Yes, you can receive services again. Cases are assigned based on the Social Worker's availability.
