Doaa Abdelazem

General Management | Global Management

Doaa Abdelazem is an international student and full-time Graduate Assistant at the Center for Undergraduate Research and Fellowships (CURF). She is pursuing a master's degree in Global Management after earning her bachelor's degree in General Management from Kean University in 2023.

At CURF, Doaa supports the logistics and coordination of departmental programs to ensure students have a positive and meaningful research experience. She also helps organize Kean Research Days and other CURF events, collaborating with students, faculty, and staff.

She is passionate about supporting students, contributing to research-focused initiatives, and fostering an inclusive and supportive academic environment at Kean University.

Amber Elise Ruiz (She/Her)

Graduate Assistant | Design | MBA Student

Amber Ruiz is a Graduate Assistant and designer with CURF, creating branding, motion graphics, and 3D work, including immersive installations for the VISER Room.

A design graduate now earning her MBA at Kean University, she combines creative design with business strategy to bring the center's events, campaigns, and research initiatives to life.

Ted Saget

Computer Science

Ted Saget is a Computer Science student at Kean University with an interest in software development and machine learning. He has participated in summer research programs and is passionate about exploring how emerging technologies can improve everyday experiences.

He plans to pursue a career in software development, with a focus on creating innovative and practical solutions through technology.

Zion Mabuchi

Finance

Shion Mabuchi is the Social Media Content Creator at the Center for Undergraduate Research + Fellowship (CURF) and a junior studying Finance. Shion has conducted research on portfolio optimization and shares Kean students’ research through CURF’s Instagram. Fluent in Japanese, Korean, and English, Shion plans a career in investment banking.

Research Ambassador

Shefali Roy (She/Her)

Biology | Junior

Shefali Roy is a third-year Biology student and Research Ambassador at CURF. She began her research journey as a freshman through the Freshman Research Initiative, studying group-based therapy for children with cerebral palsy under Dr. Amanda Sarafian.

During her sophomore year, she independently researched college students' perspectives on organ donation, examining the influence of culture, religion, and misinformation under Professor Eunice Nkansah. Both projects were presented at Kean Research Days. She now helps students find faculty mentors and access research opportunities through CURF.

Praiseley Ugboko (He/Him)

Nursing | Bioinformatics Minor | Class of 2029

Praiseley Ugboko is a CURF Research Ambassador at Kean University and a nursing and bioinformatics student. His research includes two submitted papers, one using machine learning to predict breast cancer dynamics and another examining CRISPR gene editing for rare genetic disorders.

He hopes to pursue a career in pharmaceutical research and development, combining his interests in healthcare, technology, and scientific discovery.

Vanessa Anigbogu (She/Her)

Nursing | Sophomore

Vanessa Anigbogu is a Research Ambassador at CURF and a former peer tutor passionate about student success, mentorship, and scientific research. Through the NJ Pathways Agribusiness Program, she worked with the biology team to grow herbs, develop herbal teas, and investigate their antimicrobial properties.

Her experiences have strengthened her commitment to research, collaboration, and community engagement.
