Kean University public relations students are helping Union County nonprofit organizations tell their stories to the world.

Kean University’s youngest students now have a new preschool space to learn and grow.

The preschoolers at Elizabethport Presbyterian Center in Elizabeth start many of their days by singing a special song, Hello, Jumpstart, to welcome the Kean University students who volunteer in their classrooms.

Be the Change, a community service and activism group at Kean University, held its fifth annual toy drive, collecting more than 1,700 toys and books for children in local communities, many of whom are at risk for gang violence and substance abuse.

Kean University alumnus William Weaver ‘17 was recently recognized by Roselle Park for designing the logo for the township’s annual Arts in the Street Festival. Roselle Park Mayor Carl Hokanson presented Weaver with a certificate of appreciation for his work.

LGBT+ rights advocate and transgender man Ryan Sallans, author of The Second Son, a memoir of his transition experience, retold his journey at Kean's Miron Student Center on Tuesday, October 10.

Students Tamar Rojas and Nicole Cassano, along with Professor Claire Mulry, OTD, from Kean's Department of Occupational Therapy, brought the Let's Go Community Mobility program to New Jersey seniors at three housing centers.
