Student Scientists Develop Pollen Count App for Allergy Sufferers

Student researchers at the New Jersey Center for Science, Technology and Mathematics  will soon have something that could make the allergy season more manageable. They have developed AccuPollen™ Allergy Tracker, a new app that puts the pollen count at your fingertips.

Victor Jacobson, a student in the STEM program, developed the app under the guidance of Leonard Bielory, M.D., an allergist who is on Kean's STEM Advisory Board. Pollen count data is gathered by Research Facilities Manager Nan Perigo and her students at the new STEM Pollen Station at Kean University, located on the roof of the STEM Building.

AccuPollen is in beta testing now and will be available for Android and iPhone later this spring.
