Transfer Transitions
GE 3000, Transfer Transitions is a 1-credit course required for graduation for all transfer students transferring 30 credits or more. Emphasis is on scholarly writing while helping students transition to Kean University. This course is designed to facilitate the transition into the Kean University community academically and socially. It helps students build the skills needed for success in their intended majors. The course focuses on academic planning and expectations, writing, researching and career exploration and planning.
For transfer students transferring 29 credits or less, GE 1000, Transition to Kean is a required course for graduation. Please see the following link:
TRANSFER INSTRUCTIONAL MENTORS (TIMs)
TIMs are students selected and trained to assist first-year transfer students in their social and academic transition to Kean University.
TRANSFER STUDENT ORIENTATION (Student Event Only)
Transfer Student Orientation will be held Tuesday, January 8, 2019 . Report to North Avenue Academic Building at 11:00 - 12:30 pm for check-in. Attendance is required.

Transfer Transitions Honors Program
The Transfer Transitions Student Honors Program
Each instructor can choose two Transfer Transitions - GE 3000 students per section to be recognized for their accomplishments based on their GPA and overall class achievements.
Transfer Transitions Honoree will receive the following:
- Certificate of Achievement
- Recommendation for potential Transfer Instructional Mentor (TIM) position
- This achievement is eligible for co-curricular transcript credit from the Center for Leadership and Service
