WELCOME TO COUGAR NATION!
We are excited to welcome you to our vibrant community. The New Student Experience is designed to seamlessly transition you into the Kean community. Orientation is the heartbeat of the New Student Experience. This is where your “college experience” comes to life, and you begin to see yourself as a Kean Cougar. All incoming Kean Union transfer students are required to attend.
You’ll learn how to navigate campus, register for classes, find out about campus support services, meet your new classmates, and build meaningful connections, as well as campus and residence hall tours.
Remember to complete the Pre-Orientation Modules before coming to your Orientation date.
Registration
All incoming Fall 2026 Kean Union transfer students are required to attend orientation as part of New Student Experience to transition from an "accepted student" to "climbing higher” as a Kean Cougar in the fall.

Open to All Transfer Students
*You must log in to your Cougar App account, and then you will be able to register for the event if you are admitted for the Summer or Fall 2026 semester and have paid your deposit.
Accessibility Services
The Office of Accessibility Services provides assistance and accommodations for all students with physical, medical, learning, emotional, and/or psychological documented disabilities, both temporary and permanent. Any student requiring an accommodation due to a disability needs to contact the Office of Accessibility Services two (2) weeks prior to their selected NSO session. Orient to campus with a guided tour
Receive faculty advisement
Register for classes, including the Transfer Transitions Course
Finalize your financial aid package
Choose a payment plan and pay your tuition bill
Submit your Health Immunization Form
Obtain your student ID
Purchase or rent your textbooks
Complete the Second-Year Student Assessment (SYSA) questionnaire
Optional: Apply for campus housing and/or select a meal plan

We’ve prepared a series of Orientation videos to help you connect to campus from your first days as a transfer student. Each video provides direct support to new Kean transfer students like you.
**Kean University Health Services is dedicated to ensuring the health of all students, whether on the Union or Kean Ocean campus. For your convenience, the Office of Health Services has partnered with The Doctor’s Office – Brick to provide care to Kean Ocean students. Many services will be provided at no additional charge, pending a referral is obtained from Health Services.
Referrals to The Doctor’s Office Urgent Care of Brick, whose location and contact information is listed below, can be obtained by calling Health Services at (908) 737-4880 – Monday through Friday – between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
