Fall 2023 Transfer Student Overview
Welcome to the Kean community! All incoming new transfer students are required* to attend this important orientation event. The orientation will give students an overview to prepare to start the school year. The sessions include learning how to navigate campus, registering for classes, finding out about campus support services, meeting your new classmates and building meaningful connections.
The Transfer Student Orientation (TSO) was held on Thursday, July 27, 2023. Please review the Final Steps Checklist below. If you still have questions, please contact on your degree department.
New Student Experience (NSE)*
Open to all new incoming students (new freshmen and transfers) to attend the one-day experience:

You must first log into Cougar App to register.
*REGISTRATION for NSE closes Friday, August 25, 2023 at 11:59 p.m.
*Please note that participation in TSO & NSE is mandatory for ALL incoming new transfer students, even if the student does not intend to live on-campus housing during the school year.

Accessibility Services
Accessibility Services is here to provide assistance and accommodations for all students with physical, medical, learning, emotional and/or psychological documented disabilities both temporary and permanent. Orient to campus with a guided tour
Receive faculty advisement
Register for classes, including the Transfer Transitions Course
Finalize your financial aid package
Choose a payment plan and pay your tuition bill
Submit your Health Immunization Form
Obtain your student ID
Purchase or rent your textbooks
Complete the Second-Year Student Assessment (SYSA) questionnaire
Optional: Apply for campus housing and/or select a meal plan
**Kean University Health Services is dedicated to ensuring the health of all students, whether on the Union or Kean Ocean campus. For your convenience, the Office of Health Services has partnered with The Doctor’s Office – Brick to provide care to Kean Ocean students. Many services will be provided at no additional charge, pending a referral is obtained from Health Services.
Referrals to The Doctor’s Office Urgent Care of Brick, whose location and contact information is listed below, can be obtained by calling Health Services at (908) 737-4880 – Monday through Friday – between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
