Weather Alert

Due to extreme heat and our utility provider's report of ongoing power disruptions, Kean University’s main campus in Union will operate on a fully remote schedule for the remainder of the week.

All classes will be conducted remotely, and employees should work remotely during regular Summer business hours.

Only essential personnel should report to work as required. Employees with questions about their status should consult with their supervisor.

Cougars Den will operate from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.

Kean Ocean will follow Ocean County College’s operating schedule.

Kean Sciences Wingspan Giveaway Terms and Conditions- Sept.  2020
 

 By entering the contest and accepting the prize the participants and winner agree to the following.

The Dorothy and George Hennings College of Science, Mathematics and Technology (@KeanSciences social media handle) Wingspan Giveaway sweepstake will begin Monday September 14 2020  and end at 12 Noon on Friday September 18th 2020.

QUALIFIED ENTRANTS

Only 1 entry allowed per person.

You must be a current Kean student enrolled in the Fall 2020 semester to win.

To qualify  current Kean students need to:

  1. be a  Twitter follower of @KeanSciences  (if you are not one, please follow us now and then complete the remaining requirements below.)

     Then go to @KeanSciences Twitter Feed and 

  1. retweet ONLY ONE of the ORIGINAL Giveaway sweepstake posts posted during the length of the giveaway sweepstake   (ORIGNAL: meaning  retweeting ONLY ONE of the  @KeanSciences Twitter feed posts) 
     
     
  2.  Be one of the first 100 individuals to re-tweet one of the  4 daily giveaway posts posted over the length of the 5 days.    You can only enter a TOTAL OF ONE TIME during the 5 days.  Anyone entering (re-tweeting) more than ONE time during the five days will be disqualified.

    Note:  If your tweets are protected, you may still be able to retweet.  However only people you have allowed to follow you will be able to view them.   If we do not follow you, we will not be able to see them.  Therefore individuals with protected  / private Twitter accounts may not  qualify as an eligible applicant

    Members of the Dorothy and George Hennings College of Science, Mathematics and Technology Deans Office,  family members or anyone living at their address,  student employees who usually would physically be located in the Dean's Office (even if they are working virtually during the current pandemic) are ineligible to enter.


    SELECTION OF WINNER

-One winner will be chosen randomly on Monday Sept 21st from all qualified entries.  
  (Method of random drawing will depend on the number of entries.   Two possible methods or combination of methods that may be used are:    1. All qualified entries will be printed out and put into a drawing bucket/bowl, drawing will be recorded on video and available on @KeanSciences.  and/or 2.  An application such a TWEETDRAW will be used to aid in the drawing to ensure random selection.

-Once it has been confirmed that the drawn winner selected met the QUALIFIED ENTRANT Terms and Conditions to be a qualified entrant, then the winner will be posted on @KeanSciences Twitter Feed/contacted.  If it is further found that the winner selected has not met  the Terms and Conditions than another winner will be drawn until one that is a QUALIFIED ENTRANT and also meets the  Terms and Conditions has been selected.  
 
-Winner will need to contact us within 48 hrs of the winner being posted on @KeanSciences Twitter.   

-Winner will need to contact us by sending a private Twitter message to @KeanScience identifying themselves as the winner within 48 hrs after the winner is posted on @KeanScience Twitter account.. 

-If a connection with the winner cannot be established within 48 hrs after the winner of the contest has been posted, then a new winner will be selected from remaining qualified entrants.

Winner will have to either come to the Dean's office to claim  their prize or make other agreeable arrangements with the Dean's office and agree to follow the Terms and Conditions and the Winner Agreement.


Winner Agreement 
Participants and then the winner agrees to follow the Terms and Conditions.
Winner must be able to be identified:  as a student currently enrolled at Kean during the semester of the sweepstake.  ( i.e. showing Kean ID in presence of Dean's office either in person, virtually or some other method mutually agreeable with Dean's Office and winner, allows the Deans Office to also verify the enrollment status of the winner.)  and must verify that they and the contest winner are one and the same. Verification may be done by a live tweet by winner in presence of Deans Office (ether in person, virtually or in a method mutually agreeable with Dean's Office and winner) stating that they were the winner of the @KeanSciences giveaway contest.    Any photo which includes Dean's Office members showing they are the winner used by the winner must be approved by Deans Office prior to post. 

 Winner agrees to allowing their photo/likeness(whether taken in person, virtually or other method mutually agreeable with the Dean's Office)  Name, major and social media handles  to be used by The Dorothy and George Hennings College of Science, Mathematics and Technology and Kean University  in connection to the contest on social media, websites and publications(University and/or outside publications).        

Decisions of The Dorothy and George Hennings College of Science, Mathematics and Technology are final.
