Department of Nursing

The Department of Nursing provides students the advanced knowledge and skills necessary to succeed and find satisfaction in a constantly evolving career. Nursing is an exciting profession, challenged by growing complexity in both patient care and the healthcare system.  

Kean University offers excellent programs for registered nurses interested in pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or a trans-culturally focused Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in nursing leadership or community/public health nursing. The Department of Nursing also offers a Graduate Certificate in School Nursing which reflects contemporary School Nursing practice from the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child perspective.

The baccalaureate curriculum is grounded in professional standards of care defined by the American Nurses Association, National League for Nursing, American Association for Colleges of Nursing and individual specialty organizations.
