Your courses focus on business management, medical terminology, hospital organization and health information systems.

  • Implement computerized patient record systems and track patient outcomes for quality assessment
  • Monitor the integrity of information and manage data access, analysis and use
  • Understand accounting, strategic planning and human resources administration
  • Develop technical expertise, problem-solving skills and knowledge of clinical codes for insurance reimbursement

In the first stage, students complete general education courses and all pre-professional courses at Kean. The professional courses in health information management are then completed at Rutgers - School of Health Related Professions, which is part of Rutgers Biomedical Health Sciences in Newark.
