Seungsoo Baek
Scholarly Interests
Dr. Seungsoo Baek is an Assistant Professor at Kean University in the Department of Elementary and PE/Health Education. He earned his Ph.D. in Sport Pedagogy from the University of Alabama.
His research focuses on Occupational Socialization in PETE (Physical Education Teacher Education) and how teacher educators influence preservice teachers’ professional development. Specifically, he has examined the impact of secondary organizational socialization on PETE faculty at different career stages across Asia, Europe, and North America.
A second strand of his research explores the integrative approach in curriculum and instruction, which combines physical, cognitive, social, and affective learning experiences.
Ultimately, his scholarship seeks to bridge theory and practice in teacher education, promote inclusive and student-centered learning, and prepare reflective and socially responsive physical education professionals.
