Kean Athletics to Launch Esports Program in Fall 2021

Kean University will launch a competitive esports program and open a new esports arena in Fall 2021, joining hundreds of universities and colleges across the country offering the fast-growing sport of competitive gaming. Kean’s co-ed esports team will become the 15th Kean Athletics program.

The Kean University Board of Trustees welcomed three new members, sworn in at the Board’s public meeting on Monday, March 8 — Bertha Little-Mathews, Rajeev Malhotra and Richard Torres. Also at the meeting, Trustee Linda Lewis, who joined the Board in 2003, was named vice-chair after her reappointment.
