Kean students passionate about protecting the environment shared their message on campus with a series of Earth Week events, including a cleanup of the Elizabeth River and an Earth Day Fair.

VIDEO: At the Michael Graves College Thinking Creatively conference's Let's Charrette and the Nathan Weiss Graduate College Grand Rounds, students from various academic disciplines worked together to develop interdisciplinary solutions in real-world scenarios.

Four women of color who will graduate with mathematical sciences degrees from Kean this May have been accepted to graduate programs nationwide, bucking a national trend showing both gender and racial gaps in math higher education and professions.

Students in the Combined School and Clinical Psychology program who are studying school violence and related issues recently presented their findings to the mayor and police chief of Scotch Plains. They researched a wide range of school safety issues, including infectious diseases, mental health, substance abuse, bullying and overuse of technology.

The Kean Dance Marathon raised $54,175 for Children's Specialized Hospital in Mountainside, another record. The marathon has raised more than $230,000 for the hospital since it began in 2014.

Best-selling author and animal rights advocate Chelsea Clinton joined Senator Raymond J. Lesniak at Kean's Enlow Recital Hall to discuss her new book, "Don't Let Them Disappear." The former first daughter answered questions from children and signed books for the sold-out crowd.

The keynote speaker at Kean's Research Days will be celebrated artist Paula Gaetano Adi, known for her works that combine art and technology. Her appearance highlights the addition of the arts to the traditional STEM fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Work has begun on a series of renovations at Miron Student Center that will provide more space for student programs, updated restrooms and hallways, and an international food station in the Food Court.

Kean Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Jeffrey H. Toney, Ph.D., has been named a visiting professor and scholar for the summer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He will give lectures, take part in seminars and conduct research.
