Reading Specialization (M.A.) Admission Requirements

Reading Specialization M.A.

In addition to the University's admission requirements:

• Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
• Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0
• New Jersey Standard Teaching Certification
• At least one year of successful teaching experience, also need to have completed two years of classroom teaching prior to graduation
• Official transcripts from all institutions attended
• Two letters of recommendation
• Personal statement   
• Professional Resume/CV
• Departmental interview may be required
• Official TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo score reports (International Students Only)

Reading Specialist Certificate

In addition to the University's admission requirements:

• Master's degree from an accredited college or university in another area e.g. literacy, reading, special education etc.
• Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0
• New Jersey Standard Teaching Certification
• Two years of successful teaching experience, also need to have completed two years of classroom teaching prior to graduation

• Two letters of recommendation
• Personal statement
