Kean Ocean

Due to icy conditions on the Ocean County College campus, all classes and activities at Kean Ocean will be conducted remotely on Wednesday, January 28. 

This remote schedule applies only to Kean Ocean. Kean’s main campus in Union and Kean Skylands will operate as normal. 

Only essential personnel should report in person for work at Kean Ocean. Employees with questions about their status should consult their supervisor. 

What You Learn

You gain an understanding of communication theory and best practices.

  • Study organizational culture and corporate communication strategy that translates in the business world
     
  • Explore interpretive and quantitative research methods
     
  • Evaluate communication strategies in popular culture
     
  • Choose electives in journalism, advertising and public relations

At the end of your master's degree program, you will complete a comprehensive exam. For the thesis option, a petition is required. Please contact allison.edgley@kean.edu for more information.

M.A. in Communication Studies

Certificate in Conflict Resolution and Communication

Provides both the highest level of skill development in conflict resolution methods and the communication skills required to successfully apply these methods.

Certificate in Leadership and Communication

Provides the highest level of skill development in communication and leadership.

Certificate in Public Relations and Journalism

The only program of its kind in New Jersey, this certificate enables you to earn graduate credit for these courses or complete four courses and receive a certificate in public relations and journalism.
