What You Learn

The only program of its kind in New Jersey, Kean University's Recreation Administration program prepares students to successfully work in diverse settings from both local and global perspectives.

  • Plan, develop, implement and evaluate recreation, event and sports programs for diverse groups
  • Promote and maintain healthy lifestyles from local and global perspectives and across a range of demographics
  • Develop professional skills and gain real-world experience through fieldwork
  • Gain the knowledge and skills necessary for professional practice in the recreation, sports and event professions and their associated industries.

You can further enhance your skills with a minor in athletic coaching, gerontology, health, public administration, management, marketing or communication. You can also complete your degree at Kean Ocean in Toms River.

B.A. in Recreation Administration | Sport and Event Management

This program option focuses on event planning, facility operations, management and marketing.

B.A. in Recreation Administration | Community Recreation

In this program, emphasis is placed on leadership, program planning, budgeting, managerial techniques and environmental awareness.
