Dina Prisco, Ph.D.
As an occupational therapist, my clinical experience is in pediatrics in both schools and home-based early intervention settings. Within schools, I use a strengths-based approach to therapy to maximize my clients' meaningful engagement and independence in their lives and educational programs. Within homes, I use a parent-coaching model to provide parents with the resources and information that they need to understand and support their children in the best ways possible. As a recent PhD graduate, I studied the value and role of the servant leadership model in occupational therapy and believe firmly in the tenants of this model as it relates to both community and professional service. I actively serve my profession through regular volunteer work for AOTA and fieldwork and capstone supervision. I was recently invited to join the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education's Roster of Accreditation Evaluator's team, beginning in January of 2022. As an educator, I strive to empower my OT students to be collaborative, creative, and empathetic clinicians, and strong servant leaders in their communities.
