Winter Weather Announcement

Due to the ongoing winter storm and cleanup operations, all Kean campuses will continue to operate remotely on Tuesday, February 24. 

All classes and activities will be conducted remotely during this time. Employees will also work remotely. Only those employees deemed essential during weather emergencies should report to campus. Employees with questions about their status should consult their supervisor. 

Keanu’s Kitchen will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday to serve residential students. 

Parking across the main campus in Union is currently prohibited. Drivers should keep their vehicles in the Kean Parking Deck while cleanup operations are underway. Vehicles parked elsewhere on campus may be relocated.

Academic Technology & Multimedia Committee

Purpose: This committee’s domain involves all matters (excluding curriculum procedures) related to academic technology used by the university for educational and research purposes. It aims to develop and make recommendations to meet the instructional and research technology needs of faculty, staff, and students and keep the University current and competitive in the evolving world of educational technology. The committee works with the Office of Academic Affairs, Office of Information Technology (IT), Center for Teaching and Learning, and the University Senate.

Standing Charges:

  1. To work in an advisory role with the Office of Information Technology (IT), the Center for Teaching and Learning, the University Senate, and other administrative offices to propose methods, policies, projects, and means of improving the technology services offered.
  2. To review the institutional strategic plan specific to technology and informational resources, with the assistance of the Office of Information Technology (IT), and prepare proposals and recommendations with appropriate timelines for implementation to the University Senate.
  3. To assist the university senate and other standing Senate Committees with issues regarding technology services provided to students, faculty, and staff. The committee will develop projects assessing the needs and concerns of faculty, staff, and students and make recommendations to enhance the integration of computers and technology for instruction and learning.
  4. To address the concerns raised by students, faculty, and staff regarding the quality of services and suggest ways of improving and expanding the Center for Teaching and Learning and Office of Information Technology (IT) functions. These recommendations will be sent to the University Senate.
  5. Ensure that students, faculty, and staff are widely informed about changes in academic technology, with assistance from the Office of Information Technology (IT).
  6. To fulfill any specific or special charges assigned by the University Senate.
  7. To make a mid-year progress report to the University Senate and issue a final report to the University Senate at the end of the Academic Year.
