Three-Year Honors Elementary Education/Teacher of Students with Disabilities

Kean University, the largest producer of teachers in New Jersey, is now offering high-achieving students the chance to earn a B.A. in Elementary Education with a certification in teaching students with disabilities in just three years.

Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL)

The teaching English as a second or other language (TESOL) degree and certification programs are specifically designed for those who want to teach ESL classes. In these programs, you'll learn about language acquisition, linguistics and methods of teaching ESL and EFL (English as a foreign language.)

Kean also offers an alternate route program for teaching English as a second language that enables you to be employed as an ESL teacher while you complete your ESL training.

The new College of Business and Public Management building rising on Morris Avenue on the main campus in Union has a name, Hynes Hall. It will bear the name of Jim Hynes, a 1963 Kean graduate, and his wife Carole, who announced a significant contribution toward the development of the Global Business School’s new academic facility late last fall.

Our students study public administration, school law and policy, among many other topics of interest on campus or online. Kean graduates work in a host of roles at schools across NJ and beyond, including as the new New Jersey Commissioner of Education.
