School and Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) Admission Requirements
All applications must be submitted through PSYCAS.
BOTH the PSYCAS application and the Kean University CAS supplemental application MUST be completed and "verified" by the deadline in order for the application to be fully reviewed.
In addition to the University’s admission requirements:
- Minimum recommended overall undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.3
- Minimum recommended graduate GPA of 3.5
- Graduate Record Examination (GRE) taken within 5 years of application*
- PSYCAS GRE Institution Code 2251
- Psychology Subject GRE (optional)
- Psy.D. Supplemental Application (found within the PSYCAS application)
- Statement of purpose (found within the PSYCAS application)
- Official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended
- Professional Resume/CV
- Three letters of recommendation
- Writing sample (described and to be submitted through PSYCAS)
- Personal Interview may be required
- Official TOEFL or IELTS or Duolingo English Test score reports**
*The GRE (Graduate Record Exam) application requirement for this program has been waived for the fall 2024 application. For questions and information, contact Graduate Admissions at gradadmissions@kean.edu.
**International Applicants must submit a course-by-course evaluation of their official university transcript. Foreign academic degrees must be equivalent to the bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree conferred by a U.S. regionally accredited college or university. The evaluation report must come from an organization affiliated with the National Association of Credit Evaluation Services (NACES). Please visit http://www.naces.org for a list of agencies.
