Political Science
Develop the knowledge and analytical skills to understand governments, public policy and political systems while preparing for a wide range of professional and academic pathways. Kean's political science program examines politics from local, national and global perspectives, helping you build a strong foundation for careers in government, law, public policy, public administration, diplomacy, education, journalism, nonprofit organizations and the private sector, as well as prepare for graduate programs or law school.
As a political science major, you'll strengthen your critical thinking, research and communication skills while using empirical research, comparative analysis, textual and historical interpretation and political theory to deepen your understanding of the political world. Along the way, you'll develop the civic knowledge and leadership skills to make informed decisions and contribute to communities at the local, national and global levels.
Kean students learn from experts in political science, government, media and more in the Kean President's Distinguished Lecture Series.
