Harini Anandhi Senthilkumar, Ph.D.

Biography
Dr. Harini Anandhi Senthilkumar earned her Ph.D. in Biology from the City University of New York, where her doctoral research focused on bioactive small molecules and dietary phytoestrogens against breast cancer. With over six years of experience in biomedical research, scholarly publishing, science communication, and teaching, she brings a multidisciplinary perspective to her work. She has taught a wide range of courses, including Microbiology, General Biology, and Human Anatomy and Physiology. Her teaching philosophy is that even the most challenging courses, which students often dread, can be made exciting and engaging if they learn how to apply their knowledge to everyday life. She believes that when students have the freedom to experiment under guidance, their creativity and engagement in the subject improves, allowing them to realize their true potential.
Outside the classroom, Dr. Anandhi Senthilkumar is committed to advancing the role of science in improving human lives. She has actively volunteered with non-profits that align with this goal. She currently co-leads an AI Tools Working Group within the Society for Scholarly Publishing’s Artificial Intelligence Community of Interest. She also serves on the Provost’s Taskforce on AI in Teaching, Learning, and Research at Kean.
