Biography
I got my Ph.D. in Biology from Yale University, and have been teaching at Kean University since 1994. I have taught around 21 different courses at Kean and other institutions, ranging from medical school courses for orthopedic residents to lower-level biology courses for undergraduate students.
My own research is on paleontology, mainly on Paleozoic fossil fishes that gave rise to later land vertebrates. I am also doing research on the history of paleontology in China. As a Biology Professor at Kean University (New Jersey) & Invited Research Professor at IVPP (Beijing), I am writing a biography of Dr. C.C. Young, the first vertebrate paleontologist in China. I have published papers in peer-reviewed journals including 5 joint papers in Nature (the top-ranking science journal). I have also published in non-peer-reviewed popular science magazines.
