Mathematics - STEM Education 5-year B.S./M.A.
Mathematics educators are molding the minds that will shape our future. Kean's STEM education program -- the only one of its kind in New Jersey -- provides our students with professional science and research skills, as well as teacher training, so they are uniquely prepared to launch careers as teachers of mathematics. The program offers a core curriculum in the first two years that integrates science and mathematics courses linked to problem solving with hands-on laboratory courses designed to reinforce classroom instruction.
Students earn a bachelor's degree in science and technology and a master's degree in instruction and curriculum in this accelerated five-year program, laying the groundwork for a future of preparing the next generation of innovators. Kean's STEM education graduates are pioneering new teaching techniques and advancing mathematics instruction through their work inside and outside of the classroom.

Jonathan Alvarez and other STEM education majors graduate with the skills needed to instruct and inspire.
