Professional Development
The Holocaust Resource Center offers impactful professional development sessions for teachers and administrators that focus on themes of social responsibility and civic engagement. These sessions are designed to support educators in meeting New Jersey state mandates, while also providing practical strategies for fostering respectful learning environments. Through expert-led discussions, resources, and collaborative activities, participants gain the tools to engage students in meaningful conversations.
In addition, the HRC offers engaging presentations for middle and high school students that promote empathy and an understanding of the Holocaust as well as other important topics. Aligned with New Jersey state education mandates, these sessions help students explore the impact of prejudice and the importance of standing up for one another. Through age-appropriate content, interactive discussions, and reflective activities, students are empowered to think critically, act compassionately, and become change-makers in their schools and communities.
The HRC also hosts meaningful workshops designed specifically for parents and caregivers. These sessions provide families with the knowledge, language, and resources needed to engage in age-appropriate conversations about inclusivity and social responsibility at home. Through guided discussions and practical tools, parents and caregivers are equipped to reinforce and extend the learning their children experience in the classroom, fostering a shared commitment to empathy, respect, and civic responsibility within the broader school community.
These sessions are at no-cost to Council on Global Education and Citizenship members.
