Center for Advising, Persistence and Success (CAPS)

Our center is staffed by Professional Academic Advisors who support matriculated Freshmen, Sophomores, and Transfer students (0–59 credits) at Kean Union. Advisors assist students in achieving their academic, professional, and campus engagement goals.

Our Mission

The Center for Advising, Persistence and Success believes in student-centered advising that fosters student success, community and retention. Our team provides culturally responsive academic advising, evidenced-based programming, educational planning and positive academic transitions for matriculated and undeclared freshman, sophomore and transfer students at Kean University.

We connect students to services and resources across the University, while also empowering them to engage in unique experiences on their academic journey. We commit to use evidenced-based research, scholarship and practical knowledge to advance academic advisement at Kean. We are a team of caring, dedicated professionals who listen, empathize, validate and support students along their educational and professional journey toward academic success and World-Class Education. Our center is a safe-space that promotes community and belonging.
