The Center for Advising, Persistence and Success (CAPS) is a 12-hour academic advising center at Kean University.

Our center is staffed by Professional Academic Advisors who assist matriculated and undecided Freshmen & Sophomore students (0-59 credits). Our Advisors support students with course registration and their semester to semester progress. Advisors are assigned to students based on the students last name and their total credit hours completed.

Our Mission
The Center for Advising, Persistence and Success believes that holistic and student-centered advising fosters student success, community and retention. Our team provides culturally responsive academic advising, evidenced-based programming, educational planning and positive academic transitions for matriculated and undeclared freshman, sophomore and transfer students at Kean University.
We connect students to services and resources across the University, while also empowering them to engage in unique experiences on their academic journey. We commit to use evidenced-based research, scholarship and practical knowledge to advance academic advisement at Kean. We are a team of caring, dedicated professionals who listen, empathize, validate and support students along their educational and professional journey toward academic success and World-Class Education.
