Employee Assistance Program
Kean University cares about the health and well-being of its employees and recognizes that a variety of personal issues can disrupt their personal and work lives. Personal challenges, such as family and parenting issues, emotional concerns such as anxiety, anger, grief or depression, and legal and financial difficulties, can affect employee health, well-being and job performance.
Comprehensive Assistance and Referral for Employees - Employee Assistance Program (C.A.R.E. EAP) offers screening, information, counseling, referral and support services for all full-time Kean University employees. It is designed to help employees manage work and life to further their physical and emotional well-being.
Consultations between an employee and the EAP counselor are strictly confidential. No charge is involved for visits by the employee to the Employee Assistance Program. Visits to the EAP counselor are limited to six (6) sessions. If further counseling or health services are necessary, the EAP counselor will attempt to assist the employee in transitioning to another health care provider that participates in his or her current medical plan.
Appointments with the EAP counselor may be scheduled at a confidential location on campus or off campus. A Counselor from C.A.R.E. EAP is on campus on Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to conduct confidential one-on-one sessions, by appointment only.
To schedule an appointment either on campus or off campus, employees should contact the EAP directly. For confidential assistance, call 908-497-3954, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A hotline is also available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call 1-800-890-8228.
