Well-Being at Kean has partnered with LanguageLine Solutions, a global leader in language access services, to support our commitment to inclusive and equitable communication across campus.
LanguageLine provides on-demand interpretation and translation services in over 240 languages, including American Sign Language (ASL). Services are available via phone, video, and onsite interpretation, as well as document translation and content localization—all designed to help you effectively engage with students who are Limited English Proficient (LEP) or Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing.
Eligibility
This resource is being made available to a pilot group of managers and staff in student-facing units to enhance our ability to serve and support all members of the Kean community. By removing language barriers, we promote student success and uphold our shared mission of fostering a culture of care at Kean University.
How to access a LanguageLine Interpreter
Eligible employees are able to access LanguageLine Interpreters via phone, mobile app or web. If you are eligible, a LanguageLine welcome email will be sent to you from the Office of Human Resources with further details. Employees that do not have access and are interested in LanguageLine Services to support their work with students may submit a request to be added as eligible users to wellbeingatwork@kean.edu.
Please note that LanguageLine Services are to be used exclusively for student support and official Kean University business.
If you have questions about accessing LanguageLine or how it can support your role, please contact Well-Being at Kean at wellbeingatwork@kean.edu
